I DO

  • I'm an HR consultant who helps organizations tackle the “people stuff” that tends to pile up:

    • compliance gaps

    • clunky systems

    • outdated policies

    • compensation questions

    • and everything in between.

    My clients are typically small businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, education, and human services organizations that need serious HR expertise without the cost of a full-time hire.

    The goal is always the same: lift the operational burden so you can focus on what you actually do best.

  • Think of it as making sure your organization is actually doing what employment law requires — and can prove it.

    A common example: a growing nonprofit realizes their employee handbook hasn't been updated in six years, their job classifications are off, and they've never had a formal policy for remote work.

    None of it is intentional, it just slipped. That's exactly where I come in.

  • Most clients come to me with one specific pain point - maybe it's that their HRIS is a mess, or they're worried about an upcoming audit, or morale is tanking and nobody can explain why.

    But once we start digging, it's rarely just one thing.

    I'm built to work across compliance, systems, and people strategy, so when something in one area is connected to something in another (and it usually is), I can follow the thread instead of handing you off.

  • Sure can! Let me be clear in saying that I am not a lawyer, and what I provide is HR consulting, not legal counsel.

    That said, deep knowledge of employment law is core to my work. I'll flag issues, explain your options, and recommend when it's time to loop in an employment attorney.

    Think of me as your first line of defense who knows exactly when to call in backup.

  • For most small organizations, a full-time HR hire is expensive and often premature. A consultant gives you senior-level expertise exactly when you need it, without the overhead of salary, benefits, and onboarding.

    As you grow, we can also help you determine the right time to bring HR in-house and set you up so that transition is seamless.

  • Easy. Start by reaching out through the contact form and we'll schedule a complimentary discovery call - no pressure, no commitment.

    I'll learn about your organization, what's working, what's not, and where the gaps are. From there, I'll put together a proposal tailored to what you actually need.

  • Most of my work is project-based — a defined scope, clear deliverables, and a real finish line.

    A client might bring me in to:

    • build out their compensation structure from scratch

    • overhaul their onboarding process

    • get their HR data cleaned up before a board review

    I'm also open to ongoing support where it makes sense, as some organizations just want a trusted person in their corner for whatever comes up. We'll figure out what fits.

  • Yes! This is one of my favorite problems to solve.

    A lot of organizations are paying for systems they barely use, or cobbling together workarounds because nobody ever set things up properly.

    I've helped clients migrate off spreadsheet-based tracking into a real HRIS, clean up years of messy employee data before an audit, and build out engagement surveys that actually inform decisions.

    The goal is always a setup that makes your team's life easier, not harder.

  • The vast majority of my work is done fully remotely, and honestly, it works beautifully for HR consulting.

    Video calls, shared documents, and clear communication more than get the job done.

    If you're local to the Myrtle Beach or Grand Strand area and prefer in-person meetings for certain things, that’s possible.

    If you’re outside of my immediate area, but feel it’s important for me to be on site we can discuss options to make that happen.

  • I'm Alisa Kline, SHRM-CP, a 20+ year HR veteran who's spent her career at the intersection of people, process, and compliance.

    What makes my background a little different is that I genuinely speak both tech and people. I'm just as comfortable digging into your HRIS as I am helping you navigate a tricky employee situation.

    I've worked with scrappy startups, lean nonprofits, and mission-driven teams of all kinds, and that range has made me a better, more adaptable consultant.
